Boxer Rebellion photo collection in Japan donated to China
BEIJING, China - Masao Gabe (L), a professor of Japanese political history at Yamanashi Gakuin University, points to a picture depicting the Boxer Rebellion -- an organized attempt to oust foreigners from China in 1900 -- at the No. 1 China History Archive in Beijing on March 21. Gabe has donated a collection of 400 photographs depicting the rebellion to the archive. Gabe said the photographs were made from original photos kept at the U.S. Library of Congress.
