S. Korean bomb survivor's supporters ask state not to appeal
NAGASAKI, Japan - Supporters of Lee Kang Young, a South Korean survivor of the 1945 atomic bombing of Nagasaki, stage a sit-in at the Peace Park in Nagasaki on Jan. 1, calling for the state not to appeal a court ruling made last December in favor of the survivor. The supporters will stage a sit-in every day through Jan. 9, the expiry date for filing an appeal.
