Skymark Airlines launches int'l chartered service

TOKYO, Japan - Passengers board a plane chartered by Skymark Airlines at Tokyo's Haneda aiport in the wee hours of Aug. 24 to head for Seoul. Skymark, which entered the domestic airline market in 1998 as the first newcomer in 35 years, became the first Japanese discount carrier to fly overseas.

                    UTSUNOMIYA, Japan, Aug. 26 Kyodo - A light rail transit train carrying children and others runs through Utsunomiya in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo, after a ceremony commemorating the start of the service is held at JR Utsunomiya Station on Aug. 26, 2023.
