3 refugees seek release, damages for detention after prison

OSAKA, Japan - Three Vietnamese who hold refuge status in Japan filed a lawsuit with the Osaka District Court on Nov. 20, seeking their release from a detention center near Osaka and damages from the Japanese government, on the grounds that they continue to be held in custody despite completing prison terms. A family member (L) and lawyers met reporters after filing the lawsuit.
