KOBE, Japan - Iranian trader Masoud Sobhani shows off a Persian carpet depicting New York Yankees' Hideki Matsui in Kobe. An Iranian artisan made the carpet using silk yarn in 130 colors at the request of Masoud, an ardent Matsui fan.

    NOMI, Japan - A museum devoted to New York Yankees outfielder Hideki Matsui is reopened to the media after renovations on Dec. 5 in Nomi, Ishikawa Prefecture, where he is from. The Hideki Matsui baseball museum, established in 1994, was remodeled and moved to a place closer to his parent's home at a cost of about 500 million yen. It opens to the public on Dec. 8.
