(1)Machimura says Japan, U.S. need to be flexible in realignment talks
NAHA, Japan - Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura speaks at a press conference in Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, at the end of a two-day visit to Japan's southernmost prefecture on Oct. 16. He said both Japan and the United States should be flexible in discussing a new U.S. military deployment in Japan amid concerns that regions to be covered by new U.S. military operations may be beyond the scope of a bilateral security treaty.
