Matsushita Electric's group net profit more than doubles in 1st half

TOKYO, Japan - Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. President Kunio Nakamura replies to a reporter at a press conference in Tokyo on Oct. 28. The consumer electronics giant said its group net profit more than doubled in the first half of fiscal 2004, aided by cost cuts and brisk sales of flat televisions and digital cameras.
