Kirin to offer '3rd-category' beer-like alcoholic drink in April

TOKYO, Japan - Kirin Brewery Co. President Koichiro Aramaki promotes his company's beer-like sparkling alcoholic beverage at a press conference in Tokyo on Feb. 8. Kirin becomes the third among Japan's four biggest beer brewers after Suntory Ltd. and Sapporo Breweries Ltd. to enter the so-called ''third category'' of the beer market.
