Tanka poet Tsukamoto dies at 84
TOKYO, Japan - Kunio Tsukamoto (file photo taken in 1997), an avant-garde tanka poet who had an enormous impact on the classical Japanese poetry following World War II, died June 9 of respiratory failure at a hospital in Moriguchi, Osaka Prefecture, his family said June 10. He was 84.
