Kyoto Tower to be remodeled

OSAKA, Japan - The 131-meter-tall Kyoto Tower, a landmark in the ancient Japanese capital, is shown in this file photo taken in November 2014 from a Kyodo News helicopter. Keihan Electric Railway Co. announced on Jan. 7, 2015, plans to remodel the tower near Kyoto Station and build a new hotel nearby to meet an expected rise in visitors from abroad.

                      KYOTO, Japan, June 7 Kyodo - Central Japan Railway Co.'s new N700S bullet train conducts its fifth test run on June 6, 2019, between the western Japan cities of Maibara and Kyoto. The train is scheduled to commence commercial service in July 2020 on the Tokaido Shinkansen Line linking Tokyo with Osaka.
