China's yuan reform 'historic' for Asia's currency system: Japan

TOKYO, Japan - Finance Minister Sadakazu Tanigaki speaks at a press conference at the Finance Ministry on July 22 about China's revaluation of the yuan. ''Looking from the perspective of Asia's currency system (where several economies effectively tie their currencies to the U.S. dollar), I would say it was a historic step,'' Tanigaki said.
