Gov't panel says male-only imperial succession has ''concerns''
TOKYO, Japan - Hiroyuki Yoshikawa, a former University of Tokyo President who heads a government-appointed panel on imperial succession issues, speaks at a press conference at the prime minister's office on Aug. 31. The panel agreed that there are ''concerns'' in trying to ensure a stable succession under the current rule which only allows male heirs to ascend the throne.
