Honda Super Cub output exceeds 50 mil. units

TOKYO, Japan - Honda Motor Co. said on Feb. 8 its 50 cc Super Cub motorcycle (in handout photo) became the world's first motor vehicle to achieve a global production milestone of 50 million units at the end of 2005. Production totaled 50,178,947 units 47 years after its launch in Japan in 1958, Honda said.

Honda to sell CR-Z hybrid sports car priced from 2.27 mil. yen

Honda has set the price of the two-seater, which will be launched Feb. 26 in Japan as the world's first hybrid sports car, lower than conventional sports cars in a bid to draw new customers who are interested in high operational performance when driving at a high speed.

Honda Motor to release new model of Super Cub minibike June 19

TOKYO, Japan - Honda Motor Co. it will start selling a new model of its popular Super Cub minibike (photo), which features high mileage, on the domestic market on June 19. The 110 cc Super Cub 110 minibike can travel 63.5 kilometers per liter, about 6 percent better than its predecessor, the Super Cub 90, in fuel efficiency. It will carry a price of 249,900 yen.

Honda to sell world's 1st bio-ethanol mixed fuel motorcycle

TOKYO, Japan - Photo of Honda Motor Co.'s CG150 Titan Mix, the world's first motorcycle powered by an eco-friendly fuel mix of bio-ethanol and gasoline. Honda said March 11 that its Brazilian subsidiary plans to sell around 200,000 units, which will come in three models with prices ranging from 6,340 reais to 7,290 reais (about $2700-$3100).
