Court rejects demand to stop enshrining Koreans at Yasukuni
TOKYO, Japan - South Korean plaintiffs head for the Tokyo District Court in Tokyo's Kasumigaseki district on May 25 to hear the court's ruling on their lawsuit filed against the state, demanding the state stop enshrining Korean war dead at Yasukuni Shrine and pay damages. The court rejected the claim filed by 414 plaintiffs -- 161 former South Korean soldiers and civilian personnel who served in the Japanese military as well as 253 bereaved family members of such soldiers.
