Hanshin accepts bid for Igawa

MIKI, Japan - Toshihiro Makita, president of the Hanshin Tigers, announces at a press conference in Miki, Hyogo Prefecture, on Nov. 28 that the Central League club has accepted an offer from a major league team for the right to negotiate with left-hander Kei Igawa. The Major League Baseball commissioner's office notified the Osaka club of the amount of the highest bid. The successful bidder is scheduled to be revealed simultaneously in Japan and the United States on Nov. 29.
