Tax-panel chief to resign over scandal, deals blow to Abe
TOKYO, Japan - Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasuhisa Shozaki announces the resignation of government tax-panel chief Masaaki Homma at a press conference on Dec. 21. Homma offered to resign over a scandal involving his renting of an apartment for public servants, dealing another blow to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who had handpicked him only two months ago.
