Ex-trade minister Hiranuma hospitalized for stroke
OKAYAMA, Japan - Takeo Hiranuma (file photo), former economy, trade and industry minister, has been hospitalized in Tokyo since December after suffering a stroke, his supporters said on Jan. 16. Hiranuma, 67, who fell ill while dining with other lawmakers in Tokyo on Dec. 6, was diagnosed with a mild stroke, according to the supporters, who held a press conference in Okayama Prefecture, his constituency.
