Critical accident occurred at Hokuriku Electric reactor in 1999
KANAZAWA, Japan - Takashi Matsunami (L), vice president of Hokuriku Electric Power Co., bows in apology during a press conference in Kanazawa on March 15. The company failed to report a critical-state accident in which an uncontrollable nuclear chain reaction occurred for 15 minutes in 1999 at its reactor in Ishikawa Prefecture.
