Toyota names 1st non-Japanese to board

NAGOYA, Japan - Toyota Motor Corp. said on April 12 it has named its North American unit chief James Press (photo) as senior managing director, making him the first non-Japanese to join its board. The appointment of the 60-year-old American will be formalized following approval at a shareholders' general meeting slated for June.
