Gov't upbeat on economy
TOKYO, Japan - Economic and fiscal policy minister Hiroko Ota speaks at a press conference about a monthly economic report for June. The report said, ''The Japanese economy is recovering, despite weakness in industrial production in some sectors.'' It made a brighter assessment of private consumption than the previous month.
