Canon, Nikon hoping to stimulate camera market via rivalry

TOKYO, Japan - Canon Inc. President Tsuneji Uchida said in a recent interview that Canon and Nikon Corp. want to move their digital single-lens reflex camera businesses onto a path of higher sustained growth through friendly rivalry, despite their neck-and-neck race for the title of the world's No. 1 ahead of next year's Beijing Olympics.
