Baseball: Collins resigns as Orix manager

KOBE, Japan - Orix Buffaloes manager Terry Collins speaks at a press conference in Kobe on May 21. Collins stepped down as manager of the Pacific League baseball club. Collins was appointed in the fall of 2006 after Orix finished fifth in the Pacific League. But the 58-year-old former Houston Astros skipper has been unable to turn the team's fortunes around and the Buffaloes finished bottom of the standings for the first time in three years last season and have continued to struggle this term.
