Melamine detected in Saizeriya's pizza ingredients

SAITAMA, Japan - Officials at the headquarters of Italian restaurant chain operator Saizeriya Co. in the city of Yoshikawa, Saitama Prefecture, worked late into the night of Oct. 20 after the company announced that a small amount of the industrial chemical melamine had been detected in its pizza dough made in Guangdong Province, China.

Police have arrested a Japanese company executive who allegedly was to receive the illegal drugs.
