Baseball: Kawakami finalizes deal with Braves
ATLANTA, United States - Japanese pitcher Kenshin Kawakami shows a paperboard on which he handwrote a Chinese character meaning ''soul'' with a calligraphy brush at a press conference Jan. 13 at Turner Field in Atlanta after he finalized a three-year deal with the Atlanta Braves. Kawakami spent all of his 11-year career in Japanese baseball with the Chunichi Dragons as a key rotation starter. He went 9-5 with a 2.30 ERA in 20 games last year.
