Toyota launches Lexus RX, 1st SUV under Lexus brand in Japan

TOKYO, Japan - Photo shows the Lexus RX350 sport utility vehicle launched by Toyota Motor Corp. in Japan on Jan. 19 -- the first non-sedan model under the luxury Lexus brand. Japan's largest automaker also said it will release a gasoline-electric hybrid version of the model, the RX450h SUV, in the domestic market in April.

                Daihatsu unveils new management policy after testing scandal

                TOKYO, Japan, April 8 Kyodo - Daihatsu Motor Co. President Masahiro Inoue attends a press conference in Tokyo on April 8, 2024, as the company releases a new management policy following a scandal over improper safety testing. Daihatsu said its parent company Toyota Motor Corp. will be in charge of development and safety approval for some of the models Daihatsu had handled while it will focus on its mainstay minivehicle business.
