2 dead, about 20 injured as gangway collapses at shipyard

OITA, Japan - A 27-meter-long gangway lies at the Ozai shipyard of Minaminippon Shipbuilding Co. in the city of Oita, Oita Prefecture, after it collapsed Jan. 23, killing two workers and injuring some 20 others. The accident occurred when some 40 people were on the gangway to a ship (R) that was under construction. The photo was taken aboard a Kyodo-chartered helicopter.
