Asashoryu zeros in on New Year title

TOKYO, Japan - Mongolian grand champion Asashoryu (L) blasts out ozeki Kaio to zero in on the Emperor's Cup at the New Year Grand Sumo Tournament at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on Jan 24, remaining unbeaten before the final day of the 15-day tourney. Victory on Sunday would mark a dramatic turn around in fortune for the yokozuna, who has endured an injury-plagued six months and missed part or all of the previous three tournaments with a gammy left elbow.
