Colorful carpet of tulips in Hokkaido draws tourists

KAMIYUBETSU, Japan - A tourist takes photos of his family against a backdrop of 1.2 million tulips in Tulip Park in the town of Kamiyubetsu on Japan's northernmost island of Hokkaido on May 17. Sayaka Suzuki, 7, from the main island of Honshu, admired the flowers in full bloom, saying, ''It is not like Japan here.''
