Yamaguchi to be named new head of New Komeito party
TOKYO, Japan - New Komeito party is expected to endorse its policy chief Natsuo Yamaguchi as the party's new leader at an extraordinary meeting of nationwide party representatives on Sept. 8. The current leader, Akihiro Ota, announced on Sept. 3 that he will step down to take responsibility for the party's crushing defeat in the Aug. 30 general election.
