KOFU, Japan - Gakunan Saito, an artisan in Kofu, Yamanashi Prefecture, busily works Dec. 10, 2009, putting the final touch to a batch of clay bells in the shape of a tiger. According to an oriental calendar, 2010 is the year of the tiger. All kinds of knickknacks featuring a tiger are hitting store shelves across Japan to celebrate the advent of the New Year.
