Japan researcher tries to revive dying Indonesian art

TOKYO, Japan - Isamu Sakamoto, an expert on old document restoration, poses before a painting used in old Indonesian performance art on display at a Tokyo museum on July 1, 2010. He took the initiative in reproducing the painting with his Indonesian friends to save the dying Javanese art of storytelling called ''Wayang beber.''
