Supercomputer 'K' slips to third

TOKYO, Japan - File photo taken in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, in November 2011 shows "K," a supercomputer jointly developed by Riken, a Japanese state-backed research institute, and Fujitsu Ltd. "K" has slipped to third place globally in computing speed, according to a biannual ranking announced on Nov. 12, 2012, by the U.S.-European TOP500 project.
