Court orders gov't to compensate asbestos victims

TOKYO, Japan - Plaintiffs celebrate in front of the Tokyo District Court on Dec. 5, 2012. The central government was ordered to pay a total of 1.06 billion yen in compensation for workers who suffered asbestos-related diseases such as lung cancer at construction sites due to insufficient countermeasures by the state.
