TEPCO seeks to restart idled nuclear reactors

TOKYO, Japan - Naomi Hirose, president of Tokyo Electric Power Co., tells a press conference at the company's head office in Tokyo on July 2, 2013, that TEPCO will swiftly apply for a state safety assessment of two of its reactors in Niigata Prefecture to restart their operation, even as the utility continues to grapple with the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.
