Chinese newspaper challenging authorities

In a rare case of Chinese media openly challenging authorities over violation of press rights, the newspaper on its front page the same day, for a second consecutive day, called for the release of a reporter detained by police for allegedly defaming a listed company through a series of news stories exposing its financial irregularities.
