Hitachi Senior Vice President Higashihara to become president

TOKYO, Japan - Toshiaki Higashihara, who will be promoted to president and chief operating officer of Hitachi Ltd. from senior vice president on April 1, speaks at a news conference in Tokyo on Jan. 8, 2014. Hiroaki Nakanishi, the current president, will become chairman and chief executive officer, the company said.
