Farmers' body reform plans
TOKYO, Japan - Akira Banzai, head of JA-Zenchu, or the Central Union of Agricultural Cooperatives, holds a press conference in Tokyo on April 3, 2014, to release a set of reform plans for the governing body of agricultural cooperatives in Japan. Banzai said the body will appoint entrepreneurial farmers as senior officials of local agricultural cooperatives as part of efforts to rejuvenate its organization.
