Toji's historical documents, World Memory candidate

KYOTO, Japan - "Toji Hyakugo Monjo," a collection of historical documents from medieval Japan originally preserved at Toji, a Buddhist temple in Kyoto, are displayed at the Kyoto Prefectural Library and Archives in the western Japanese city on June 12, 2014. The Japanese National Commission for UNESCO selected the collection, a national treasure, as one of two candidates to be inscribed in UNESCO's Memory of the World Register.
