Shinkansen to be used as base for Texas high-speed rail link

TOKYO, Japan - January 2012 photo shows a Japanese Shinkansen train, which will be used as the base of a high-speed railway system to be introduced in the U.S. state of Texas by 2021. The system will enable passengers to travel between Dallas and Houston in less than 90 minutes.

          UTSUNOMIYA, Japan, Aug. 26 Kyodo - A light rail transit train carrying children and others runs through Utsunomiya in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo, after a ceremony commemorating the start of the service is held at JR Utsunomiya Station on Aug. 26, 2023.
