Brick-red train to mark centenary of Tokyo Station

TOKYO, Japan - East Japan Railway Co. announces on Sept. 3, 2014, in Tokyo that it will decorate one of its 11-coach trains running on Tokyo's Yamanote Line with a brick-red design, like this artist's image, between October and next March as part of an event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of Tokyo Station on Dec. 20.

New tram starts operating north of Tokyo

UTSUNOMIYA, Japan, Aug. 26 Kyodo - A light rail transit train carrying children and others runs through Utsunomiya in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo, after a ceremony commemorating the start of the service is held at JR Utsunomiya Station on Aug. 26, 2023.
