Omron develops new 3D image display device

OSAKA, Japan - Omron Corp. unveils in Osaka, western Japan, on Oct. 2, 2014, a three-dimensional image display device that can project a still 3D image in mid-air by directing LED light toward the surface of a transparent plastic plate, the first such 3D image projection system in the world.

NTT West to launch elderly support service via videophone

Sony develops eyewear-use compact attachable display module

If a user is playing golf or cycling, for example, sunglasses equipped with the new device connected to a smartphone can provide information such as course maps or distance readings, according to Sony.

The Japanese electronics giant plans to launch commercial production of the TV in time for trial 8K ultra high-definition broadcasting due to start in 2016.
