Rakuten appoints Okubo as new Eagles manager

SENDAI, Japan - Hiromoto Okubo, who was appointed as the new Rakuten Eagles manager, attends a press conference in the northeastern Japanese city of Sendai on Oct. 14, 2014. The 47-year-old Okubo, who had served as farm team manager, succeeds Senichi Hoshino, who last month announced that he will resign at the end of this season.
