Cost-friendly eel cultivation tested at fish farm

UTSUNOMIYA, Japan - A worker at a freshwater fish farm in Nakagawa, Tochigi Prefecture, northeast to Tokyo, watches eels on Nov. 17, 2014, grown in an experimental aquaculture pond where the water temperature is controlled by remaining heat from a wood-processing factory's boiler. The application of residual heat is said to be more cost-effective than the conventional use of fuel oil.
