Cost-friendly eel cultivation tested at fish farm
UTSUNOMIYA, Japan - Eels grown big enough to be sold are shown in this photo taken in Nakagawa, Tochigi Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, on Nov. 17, 2014. A local freshwater fish farm grows eels in an experimental aquaculture pond where the water temperature is controlled by retaining heat from a wood-processing factory's boiler, which is said to be more cost-effective than the conventional use of fuel oil.
