          KASHIWAZAKI, Japan - Kaoru (L) and Yukiko (R) Hasuike, repatriated from North Korea after being abducted in 1978, begin a tour of public facilities run by his hometown of Kashiwazaki, Niigata Prefecture, with a visit to a nursing care center for children and the elderly on Jan. 14.             MSDF ships pass Suez for Turkey with prefab shelters

            SUEZ, Egypt - The transport ship Osumi and two other ships of the Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF) pass through the Suez Canal, Egypt, on Oct. 14 for Turkey, carrying 500 prefabricated houses for people who lost their homes in a killer earthquake. The vessels will arrive in Turkey on Oct. 19. The quake hit northwestern Turkey on Aug. 17, killing more than 15,000 people and leaving many more homeless. The prefabricated houses were used after the Great Hanshin Earthquake occurred in 1995.
