Record high temperature of 40.9 C marked in Saitama, Gifu

TAJIMI, Japan - High school students put up a parasol while walking in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture, where the temperature climbed to a record high of 40.9 C on, breaking the previous record of 40.8 C marked in Yamagata Prefecture in 1933.
