Mitsukoshi, Isetan to merge in April

TOKYO, Japan - Nobukazu Muto (L), president of Isetan Co., and Kunio Ishizuka, president of Mitsukoshi Ltd., shake hands at a hotel in Tokyo on Aug. 23 after a joint news conference. They announced that the companies will integrate operations April 1 under a holding company to create Japan's largest department store group.
