The country's GDP grew 8.2 percent for the full year, and 7.8 percent during the last quarter (January-March 2024) of the financial year, it said. According to media reports, the GDP growth was better than what most economists had predicted. The Reserve Bank of India had forecasted a 6.9-percent growth in real GDP for the fourth quarter of the financial year 2023-2024, with a full-year projection of 7.6 percent.
