The designer's death was announced on Friday in a statement by the Puig Group, which owns the Paco Rabanne brand of clothes and fragrances. Meanwhile, Puig's Chief Executive Marc Puig said he was "deeply saddened" by the designer's death, whose work he described as "daring, revolutionary and provocative." Born in the Basque region of Spain in 1934, Paco Rabanne became famous in the 1960s. He was best known for designing futuristic "space-age" dresses.
