While rural unemployment decreased marginally to 7.34 percent in April from 7.47 percent in March, urban unemployment increased to 9.81 percent from 8.51 percent during the same period. Despite the increase in the unemployment rate, more jobs were created in April, particularly in rural areas. Around 22.1 million jobs were created in April, with a job creation rate of 94.6 percent in rural areas and 54.8 percent in urban areas.
